Working in a team is all about respecting each other’s views or ideas. In a team there is no right or wrong idea because all ideas apply to what we are working on. Also in a team it is not

about what you want because there is no ‘I’ in a team. only ‘WE’ applies.

We were given the opportunity to invent/manufacture anything that can be useful to our world which was giving us an insight of engineering. Our experience on team working is that there is no one who can do the best without the help of other team members, because there is no Mr/Mrs perfect. What we liked about working in teams is that we learnt how to communicate with other people, namely team members and those of other teams and share views.

Engineering can be very useful to our world especially to mother Earth as many resources are almost done, it can help reducing the use of these resources. engineering its all about thinking a problem and coming up with a solution.

Group 2 – Somerset East 28th June 2011

WHERE THERES TEAM WORK THERE’S SUCCESS

For each and everyone of us, being part of this engineering week was such a great opportunity we’ve ever had in our lives. We can’t even explain how happy and greatful

we were to work in the fabLab. It is true that each and every journey begins with a single step because before we started it all seemed liked a dream until we put it into action.

After mixing up all the ideas we decided to build a shelf, what a challenging and interesting and enspiring experience. The reason why we chose a shelf is because it represent the way we keep the combination of ideas as we all know the purpose of a shelf it also represents the importance of every ideas no matter how small it is.

After finishing our task we realised how important it is to work as a team and respecting each and every individual because that is the weapon we used to win this challenge. From now on the word team means we CAN.

Group 3 – Somerset East 28th June 2011

Already the engineering awareness programme have been a learning curve for all of us.It provided us with challenges allowing us to be creative and innovative, enhancing our problem solving skills.

The Fab Lab experience on its own have been so educational and really fun.As a group,it really challenged us to the max, requiring us to be creative and innovative

However, teamwork was the main focus for the day.We had to learn how to work as a team and be efficient on your job as a team member.Another most important leasson that we had learned for the day is that, there is no ‘I’ in a teamwork but only we

As a team, we learned a lot from the Fab Lab experience, it really opened our minds to a lot of aspects in the engineering world that we had no idea about.

BIG UP TO THE FAB LAB PROGRAMME!!!After this experience, I personally am really considering persuing a career in engineering and most of my group members feels strongly so too.

GROUP 4 – Somerset East 28th June 2011

The Fab Lab programme was a very educational and informative programme that has equipped and challenged us to be constructive thinkers, that is to think outside the box and try to make something out of nothing.

As a group we have learnt how to design a model/prototype using a computer in 3 dimension, this has enabled us to gain more computer skills and knowledge. The innovation part has enlarged the capacity of our minds and has given us valuable skills and understanding on how to turn a design from a computer into something that can be physically seen.

This programme has brought light into our dim minds as learners and has encouraged us to take Mathematics and Science seriously as our country needs more scientists and mathematicians that will be able to solve the different problems that we are facing in our country.

We would like to thank CSIR for sending Dr Ron to the engineering week in Somerset East, This man has helped us to be ourselves when doing something and not try to copy what the others are doing, and he had taught us that in the engineering world THERE IS NO “I” but TEAM WORK only that exists.

“Small minds discuss people, Average minds discuss events, But Great Minds Discuss IDEAS”

<ul class="wp-block-gallery columns-3 is-cropped
