This is in support of the <\/span><a style=\"font-size: inherit;\" href=\"https:\/\/microbit.org\/about\/#:~:text=Theory%20of%20Change,-We%20believe%20that&amp;text=By%20inspiring%20more%20young%20people,the%20creation%20of%20better%20technology.\">Microbit Theory of Change<\/a><span style=\"font-size: inherit;\"> which states that &#8220;By inspiring more young people to learn digital skills, we aim to diversify the students who choose STEM subjects as they progress through school and into their careers. This, in turn, grows a diverse pipeline of talent, boosting social equity and contributing to the creation of better technology.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p>This first &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/yesa.org.za\/microbit\/competition\/road-safety\/\">Road Safety Challenge <\/a>\u00a0Mat&#8221; was designed in 2023 and was shared with a number of schools.<\/p>\n<p>The 2024 Competition is set in the context of the <a href=\"https:\/\/yesa.org.za\/microbit\/competition\/taxi-mat-challenge-2024\/\">Taxi Strike in the Western Cape<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Learning by doing is an integral pedagogy of all work using the Microbit.
