About the Project

EcoTales will focus on the following global areas

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) aim to transform our world. They are a call to action to end poverty and inequality, protect the planet, and ensure that all people enjoy health, justice and prosperity. It is critical that no one is left behind.

Special emphasis will be place on the following goals: -

- 4 Quality Education
- 13 Climate Action
- 15 Life on Land and
- 17 Partnerships for Goals

This will be achieved with learners beig exposed to : -

  • Climate Change

Present-day climate change includes both global warming—the ongoing increase in global average temperature—and its wider effects on Earth's climate system. Climate change in a broader sense also includes previous long-term changes to Earth's climate.

  • Environmental Awareness

Environmental awareness refers to an understanding of the environment, including its natural resources, ecosystems, and the impact of human activities on them. It encompasses knowledge of environmental issues like climate change, deforestation, and pollution, and encourages actions that promote sustainability and conservation. Essentially, it's about recognizing how our actions affect the planet and making conscious choices to minimize negative impacts and protect the environment for the future.

  • Coding

Coding, at its core, is the process of creating instructions for computers to follow, essentially telling them what to do and how to do it. It involves using programming languages to write code, which is then translated into a form that the computer can understand and execute. This process allows humans to build a wide range of applications, from websites and apps to complex software systems.

  • EduTourism

Edutourism, also known as educational tourism, is a form of tourism where learning and educational experiences are a primary or secondary purpose of the trip. It encompasses a wide range of activities, from school tours and cultural exchanges to specialized study abroad programs and volunteer opportunities. Edutourism aims to provide unique learning experiences beyond the traditional classroom setting, often immersing travelers in new cultures and environments.

  • Project based learning

Project-Based Learning (PBL) is an active, student-centered approach where learning happens through engaging in complex, real-world projects. It moves beyond traditional teaching, empowering students to take charge of their education while building critical 21st-century skills like critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration. Key to PBL are its relevance to students' lives, the in-depth nature of tasks, and its collaborative and inquiry-based foundation, often culminating in a tangible product. Teachers act as facilitators, guiding students through this process.

The benefits of PBL are significant, leading to a deeper understanding of concepts and improved retention due to hands-on experience and application. It boosts student engagement by connecting learning to their interests and real-world issues, making the educational journey more meaningful and motivating. Ultimately, PBL prepares students for future success in higher education, careers, and life by developing essential skills and fostering a love for continuous learning.
