Group 1
We have learned how to work as a team.Bringing our ideas to life.Each group member contributing towards the problem solving when designing our project.Were somehow challenged,but yet managed to quickly reach a solution based on technological process.
we experienced that in science evrything is possible,if you have resources and not limitting your starndard of thinking.Passion,dedication, commitment and hardwork does make one achieve a goal in life.Being unfortunate and not advantaged does not have to pull you from dreaming big about your future.
We would like to see YESA bringing more equipment to the fablab epecially electrical stuff.Their program to occationaly occur and invite more schools to also get the experience that we gaind.To also come up with competions.offering things like computers and bursaries.
Group 2
TERROR SQUAD
We experienced a lot of things. The task that they gave us was very challenging, but as a group we managed to bring the ideas together to work out our task.It was so interesting, also a lot of fun learning about designing.We never thought that we can also draw by using computers.That was our first time.We found kind people who taught us about lot of things that are related to our careers.
We have been encouraged how interesting the engineering is. We can learn more about many unique careers of maths and sciences.We are happy for been invited to take part at Mokopane FabLab for coming to do some drawings.We as the learners we are ready for any challenges that we are going face in life.
We are very thankful to be invited to MOKOPANE FABLAB.
Group 3
Our day at FabLab
Our day was very interesting bacause we experienced a lot and we learned many things.The exciting
thing was coming up with ideas and designing.It was very challenging,we had come with different ideas an brainstorm them.But all in all we came up with an idea an we decided to make a desk tider.It was a product that put all stationary stuff all in one.we got to use computers to design our products and for some us it was the 1st time.
Best thing was that we had great fun.we met Ron Beyers who taught us about team work an thinking out of the box.His collegues also helped with coming up with ideas and designing.The name of our group is INFINITE DESIGNS,and we came up with this name because something infinite doesn’t end.This day was the best and we wish it didn’t end…and we also took a 20 minutes break and we had a juice with 2 muffins.
We were divided into groups of four…Team manager,design engineer,construction engineer/electronics and Media Specialist.we enjoyed the rolea and we chose them well.Antony was the team manager,Patrick was the construction engineer,Clive was the design engineer and Neo was the media specicialist.we had great time at FabLab…we wish we could come back here.
GROUP 4
Today we experienced lot of things when we started, we did not know that everything is possible as long as we try. We then realised that everything is correct, no one can come up with a stupid ideas. All ideas are correct. It was challenging though in the first place, we introduced into many fascinating ideas. Then we were given a permisssion to choose anything that we can design. It was difficult for us to come up with one idea, and stick on it, but we then met the final decision. We decided to design a bridge. Many people were astonished as they thought that designing a bridge was a difficult idea. As they made us believe that nothing is impossible. We the stick to our idea. Everything is possible if we are passioned and dedicated. We learnt the creativity , team work, self esteem znd tolerance. It was a lovely day. Many people will benefit a lot from the bridge that we designed. It will save money as people use the marine transportation.
Group 5
I attended FabKids with 16 learners from grades 10 & 11, which was scheduled for the second day of august 2011.
Upon our arrival Ron made some introductions. Learners were then divided into groups of four four.
In their grouups they were suppose to come up with something that they could design and construct.
All groups were able to come up with their projects.I was struggling with the costruction using the computer, but Ron and Noksy assisted me. I enjoyed every little step of it.
We were also shown how to print and to cut using laser cutter.
My sincere gratitude goes to the whole team for letting us all to have hands on. Keep up the good work.
