We as learners of Walmer High School,in grade 10 in a class of Physical Science.We were chosen to represent our class in an Engineering FAB LAB.The were16 students in our school who were chosen to participate the FAB LAB.
We were devided into four groups.And we were the first group(group 1).We were told to come up with our own designs ,and we came up with a Pen Holder.We first had to draw it on paper ,and design it on the computer,and then print it.
We had a great time.It was fantastic to be there,we had a lovely day with Mr Ron.He is a wonderful Teacher and he thought us very well and also we learn a lot from him.
Group 2
Today was a moment of greatness because we have experinced several things like the duties of different people woriking in different positions of engineering. Namely Team Manager, Design Engineer, Construction Engineer and a Media Specialist. We had to work as a team to accomplish our goal, which was to use the 5 Technology procedures to investigate, design ,make,evaluate and communicate. We designed a cd holder but we struggled to put all the pieces together yet we managed to finish it, thanks to Dr Beyers who kindly assisted us. The most important aspect to take out of this day is that human brains are powerful more than computers because it is us ,people who tell the computers what they should do.
Group 3
Today was a great day and we all had fun. The experience we`ll take away with us is the kind that comes once in a life time. Hopefully something like this goes to other schools as well. Today we realised that we all are very talented but are scared to show it,we learnt that showing that talent hurts no one but makes a huge difference.Being part of this experience means a lot to us because not every pupil has a chance to be part of this Fab Lab project at our school and to us it is a great privilage.Today we learned that we have the ability to change the world and tomorrow is ours.

what we have enjoyed a lot is the part that today we were given a chance to express our selves and use our knowledge.non of us ever thought that we could design a school badge.we experienced lot today.We learnt that ”IF LIFE YOU HAVE TO ONE STEP AT A TIME”.if you want to be what you want to be in life, you don’t have to look on others”WHAT THEY SAY OR WHAT THEY DO” because “THE HARDER WE WORK THE LUCKIER WE GET”. who had ever thought that one day we will be at this project.i think we have to work hard to put some more effort and achieve at what we wanna be tomorrow.our dreams had come true although we had not finish i think this project had open one more door in our futures. people will always talk and the more they talk is the more they push us on the top. the reason why we have a school badge, it is because we wanted to encourage all those who are in school to work hard on their studies. We as our group believe that education is the key to success. If you have education no one can ever take it away from you. What we’ve also learnt from Dr Beyers is that, we should be self disciplined
