We were very pleasant to be here at the fablab. It is a good experience learning about how to build products, in different ways. today we designed a pencil case which is a boat that you could put stationary material. the listen of today was to communicate with each other. We learned how to cut with a lazer cut,using a computer and drawing on a computer. We were happy of being at the lab of nwu. we wish you all the best in your good work you are doing.

This has been a wonderfull experience.we learnt so many things here. Our experiment for today was building something that you can put your stationery in besides the ordinary. We built a couch where you can put your stationery in. It was a very difficult task and you had to be very creative. We learnt so much about technology and really enjoyed it and we would like to thank the fablab people for such a great opportunity and we would like to also thank Madam Stella for choosing us. We learned how to use many different gadgets and how to work as a team.

Today we learned how to combine,construct and build different objects using cardboard ,computers and laser printers. We had to make a stationary holder which is a GUITER to put in pencils rubbers ECT. In the FABLAB there are different types of machines like a 3D printer,laser cutter ECT. We communicated with each other as a group. One of us had to draw sketch which is a graphic designer. One of us had to construct and glue the parts of the GUITER together
we had to manage the group as one after all we enjoyed our day at the university of NORTH WEST. WE had the help of some very interlligiant people like

14 September 2011.What a day at the FABLAB,it was an experience of a life time. In the morning we were given a tough task,it was hard. Our heads were blank ,we did not have any ideas for the task. We managed with Ron, Hendry and Piet’s help. We saw different kinds of machines. The laser cut was the best .We learnt a lot about technology and what it does. The people here are very helpful. We learnt about teamwork and to help each other. There are hundreds and hundreds of good things we can say about our visit here at the FABLAB. We enjoyed it.

What we have learned today is how the technological process works. How to print objects,how to build them and how to measure the parts accurately. We have seen that the process may take a long time and may also be easy. They showed and helped us how to make the objects. As a group,we may have made mistakes but we learned from the FABLAB. MAPASEKA was the manager and she did a good job.
Today was a fun and exciting day and maybe we will do it again when given the chance. DINEO was the person that was drawing. THATO was the building engineer. Thanks for the awesome day we really enjoyed ourselves and to the FABLAB…….

The FABLAB is really living up to its name, it is fabulous : the environment, equipment the lectures all contributed towards making the day educational. We all came here with limited knowledge about Technology and we left with broader and wider minds and motivated.
Learners at school look at Technology with different negative attitudes, doing it to please the teacher or curriculum but the one’s who came today will have a different approach after their experience.
It is my wish that more learners can be invited to an expo like this one , this will certainly spark more interest towards the subject.
The lecturers are the one’s that bring the Technology subject alive, they are alive and very helpful.
