Clean Energy Education – Potchefstroom

The next demonstration was some three hours later so I had time to reflect arriving 90 minutes early. The school was at the edge of the township and the air was filled with the residual smells of the previous evening’s cooking fires. I was taken aback with the way in which locals simply accepted me. I walked around the perimeter of the school taking photographs of the street vendors and taxi rank. This was a unique experience of being immersed in the environment of township communities which is enveloped in a cacophony of human noises in surround sound.

The session took place in the full sun which enhanced the impact of clean energy education. Once again there was an individual who managed to come up with a solution for the wind turbine which gives me hope for the future. They were all hungry to learn and the teacher was extremely positive about running the competition in the school in the third term.
