Design and build a Hydrogen Fuel Cell powered vehicle that can be raced over a distance of 10m using
1) a chassis designed and manufactured with a 3D Printer 2) a chassis designed and manufactured with a Laser Cutter, OR 3) LEGO supplied with the Charity Box Kits |
| Other equipment | Depending on the equipment that is available three possible alternatives will be considered. |
| Poster presentation | Teams have to prepare 6-10 page portfolio which will be used to convey the scientific principles used in the powering of their vehicle |
| Rules | – This is to be completed in pairs
– The device must be designed and constructed at designated venues under the guidance of a teacher/mentor – Specific safety rules will be applied at all times especially when work with laser cutters and 3D printers – All equipment will be used under the supervision of staff associated with the project – A 10 m track should be demarcated for the race – Teams are allowed to practice on this demarcated track – Marks will be allocated to o the quality of the poster presentation (Rubric assessment) o a 10 minute presentation by all members of the team (Rubric Assessment) o best designed vehicle (Rubric assessment) o the best marketing plan with sponsorships (Rubric assessment) o times for the race relative to the top team |
