Asking learners to stay after school is extremely difficult especially considering the transport difficulties that they experience. Approximately 100 learners pitched up after the final bell for the day and were eager to be engaged in this different demonstration. There was also a few casual observers looking down from the adjoining balconies.
I brought an electric fan with in my luggage which was used effectively together with the wind turbine challenge. We were outside in the full sun which meant that the Solar Car was able to do its thing in entertaining the learners.
The final demonstration was the use of the hydrogen fuel cell which always works well. One has to reinforce the miss-conception that the car runs on hydrogen and oxygen rather than running on ‘water’ . This emerged with many previous sessions especially in the Cofimvaba region.
